The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is trying to identify a woman who tried Dec. 13 to pass $160 in counterfeit bills to a store clerk in Williamsburg, according to the press release.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Dec. 13, a black woman came into the 7-Eleven in the 400 block of Bypass Road and tried to use eight $20 bills and place the total amount on a credit card. The clerk saw that the bills were fake and denied the transaction. The woman left the store and the bills on the counter when the clerk confronted her about the counterfeit cash.
