DJ Montague Elementary School releases second-grade supply list

A list of classroom supplies for second-grade students at DJ Montague Elementary was recently sent to parents to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The list includes 24 No. 2 pencils, eight glue sticks, two pocket folders and two black-and-white composition notebooks.

Parents also are asked to buy one each of the following: 24-count Crayons or washable markers, a 12-count box of colored pencils, a package of notebook paper with wide rule and no zipper binders, a pencil box or pouch, an eraser, scissors and a 2-inch binder with five subject dividers, and a highlighter.

Optional items include a large box of tissues, a backpack, washable markers, hand sanitizer and 3-inch by 3-inch self-stick note pads. School officials said donations of these items are appreciated.

Parents should bring all school supplies to the school's open house from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at the elementary school, 5380 Centerville Road in Williamsburg.

The academic year for Williamsburg-James City County schools starts Tuesday, Sept. 4.
