Williamsburg Bird Club to lead Saturday morning walk

The Williamsburg Bird Club will hold an early bird walk beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at New Quarter Park.

Local naturalist and club member Susan Powell will lead the group on a two-hour walk through the park, according to a press release from the York County public information office. Such walks typically see 25 to 45 different species of birds.

Binoculars and guides will be available from the park office, according to the release. The group will first walk to Queen's Creek to see birds of prey and waterfowl, and then through the woodlands and into a park meadow to look for songbirds.

Attendees should meet in the parking lot near the park office. The walk is free and open to the public.

New Quarter Park is located at 1000 Lakeshead Drive.
