Two Williamsburg runners complete Lynchburg Half Marathon

Two runners from Williamsburg completed the Lynchburg Half Marathon on Saturday, Aug. 11 in Lynchburg.

John Piggott, 47, completed the race in 1:18:00, while Byron Adams, 70, crossed the finish line in 2:36:47.

A total of 236 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which started and ended at Blackwater Creek Natural Area in Downtown Lynchburg.

Ricky Flynn of Lynchburg was the men's overall winner with a time of 1:15:28, while April Irwin of Greensboro, North Carolina was the women's overall winner with 1:30:37.
