Richard L. Sowers II named director of Music Ministries at Williamsburg United Methodist Church

Richard L. Sowers II has been named director of Music Ministries at Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

Sowers was previously director of Music Ministries for the Abington Presbyterian Church where he was also music director and conductor of the Abington Symphony Orchestra and Oratorio Chorus. For more than ten years Sowers was director of choral activities and assistant professor of Music at Lindsey Wilson College. He is the former music director and conductor of The Louisville Chorus.

He holds the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Louisville School of Music in applied voice, did graduate studies in opera at the Indiana University Music School, and doctoral studies in conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Williamsburg United Methodist Church is at 500 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg.
