Chaminade High School grad Jacqueline Carson earns Johnson Scholarship
Jacqueline Carson, a graduate of Chaminade High School, has been awarded Washington and Lee University's Johnson Scholarship.
According to the release, "The Johnson Scholarship program was established in 2007 as a result of an historic $100 million gift to Washington and Lee. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis, and candidates are chosen on the basis of exceptional academic and personal promise. The scholarships provide at least tuition, room and board, and allow students to graduate debt-free."
Carson, of Williamsburg, began at Washington and Lee University in September.
She was one of 200 finalists for the prize.
Washington and Lee is located in Lexington.
